Necesitamos más energía

Experts agree that global demand for energy supply is likely to double by 2050, compared to 2000 levels. Overcoming these challenges will require a radical change in the global energy system, a change that is already happening in many countries with the incorporation of new energy sources.
When we talk about new energy sources, we must think of green energies, energies that do not affect the environment and that do not generate a carbon footprint. There are already suppliers working in this line; we sell clean energy under the Qualified Supply scheme.
Competitiveness must exist, it is healthy in many ways. When the current Reform under which Qualified Suppliers operate is questioned, it leaves us a lot to think about the background of all this. Why change a law that promotes healthy competition? Why go back in time to use polluting energies? If worldwide the trend is towards clean energy, why would we in Mexico have to move in the opposite direction?
It is essential that our representatives take into account the real effects on the future of our country and our families. The Wholesale Electricity Market is still young, but it has great potential to contribute positively to the country, to individuals and to our families.
As a father of a family, I want to leave a better Mexico for my children. Our parents and ancestors left us a “dirty” Mexico, but they didn't have the information we have today. We have no excuses; we know what must be done and we can achieve it together, the Private Initiative and the Government.
We must take advantage of the potential of our territory and make use of the treaties we have with other countries. In terms of energy, there is still a lot to explore for the benefit of our country and our economy. Qualified Supply is a clear example of this: the Wholesale Electricity Market allows us to take advantage of natural resources to generate clean energy and use it in high-consumption companies.
We must be aware that there can be no growth as a country if we don't invest in an issue as essential as Energy. Foreign investment depends on two key factors: electricity and water; if there are none, it is very difficult for a company to invest in that region.
We're still on time. The social and economic impact of an Energy Plan designed for the benefit of all can make a difference and allow us to leave a better Mexico for our children.
